Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system with an equatorial diameter of approximately 120 540 km (10 times the planet Earth), its angular dimension varies from 14.5 to 20.1 arc seconds. Its orbital period is 29.45 years and rotates on itself in 10h and 39 min. As the only planet with a ring system within the reach of the amateur astronomer, Saturn often provides images of unparalleled beauty, if we add to this the possibility of detecting disturbances in its atmosphere or transit of some of its brightest satellites and respective shadows, then we can say that this planet is a constant challenge for the planetary imager.
