The moon is our natural satellite, with a diameter of 3474 km has an approximate angular size of 30 arc minutes to an observer located on Earth. Its orbital period (time it takes to make a complete orbit around the Earth) is 27.3 days and its synodic period (time taken between the same phases, eg full moon to full moon) is 29, 5 days. Due to its orbital period is the same as its period of rotation (time it takes to make a complete rotation on itself) the Moon always has the same side facing us, yet, due to the wide variety of structures on its surface and the complex way some of them are related, as well as the different aspects of the same structure visible in the different phases of lunation, never lacks  interesting features to photograph.
